Clara Marie Griffo was a dedicated wife, mother, and friend. She was born December 21, 1930, in Henryetta, Oklahoma, before resettling in Culver City, California, as a young girl. She lived a life full of travel, dancing, and art. Cluny, as she liked to be called, was an avid painter, art instructor, and photographer. She adored children and animals alike. Cluny traveled the world, photographing and painting her experiences for over 70 years. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who wanted the best for others. Cluny was fiercely independent and a self-proclaimed feminist. She loved decorating, crocheting, and clothes. In her later years, she lived in Big Bear, California, and eventually moved to Puyallup, Washington, to be near her daughter. Cluny passed away on December 8, 2023, in Tacoma, Washington, at the age of 92. She is survived by her daughter, Loraine Highet (Puyallup, Washington) and four grandchildren: Erin, Tara, Kent, and Brett. Her good humor, kind heart, artistic beauty, and tenacious personality will be dearly missed. May she rest in peace.
