Obituary

November 23, 2024, Darlene "Doll" Jones was called home. Matriarch of the Hill & Jones families, many remain to celebrate her life, many hold tight to memories of her that brighten their hearts. In her time here Doll exemplified unconditional love and symbolized a way of being the best us that we can be. Doll captivated us with her humor and wit, she strengthened us with her resilience and pride, and she guided us with her wisdom and compassion. The world is lesser for her loss, but all those whose lives she touched are far greater for the time they had with her.
Doll lived not just a life filled with love and devotion to her family but a life rich in accomplishments. Doll was an accomplished student, a cheerleader and valedictorian, attending college in Chicago.

She remained an active supporter as an Alumni of the Caruthersville Tigers and held tight the bonds and friendships she forged across her lifetime.

A lifelong reader and learner, Doll educated herself on many subjects. She was a political activist and an accomplished genealogist.

She was, a leader, a mother, a favorite aunt, a sister, a foundation, and the brightest of lights.

Doll was preceded on her journey by her mother Demether Ivory, father Walter L Hill Sr. and by her husband Oscar "Bubba" Lee Jones. She is survived by, Larry Hill and Mary Hill, Freeda and Matt Mosley, Lynette Jones, Michael Jones, Calvin Bownes, Tawanna Jones, Harvey Hill, Yvetta Hill, Faith Creggett, Tarek Marston, Ramus Leggans, Lisa Kim, Calvin Bownes Jr., Lennox Jones and many more family and friends whose love an adoration for her honor and memorialize her great spirit.
