Dennis R Dibble, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, big brother and master mechanic, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025, in Renton, Washington, at the age of 78. He was born in Olympia, Wa on December 9, 1946.  He spent his very early years in Lester Wa, and then Marysville.   A resident of Renton for the last 45 years, Dennis left an indelible mark on his community, his family, and the countless hot rods that passed through his skilled hands.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, George and Alida Dibble of Marysville, and his sister, Janet Dibble Meece of Estacada, OR.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Sharon of Renton; his four children: Craig (Amy) of Arlington, Aaron of Burien, Ty of Mill Creek, and Dana of Timnath, CO; and his brother, Mark (Janine) from Orondo, WA.
Dennis also leaves behind six beloved grandchildren: Evan, Ethan, Cole, Bodie, Kaeden, and Kailen.

Dennis served for many years as a mechanic, spending a significant portion of his career employed by UPS and then Sealand/Maersk before retiring. His commitment to excellence extended into his professional life, where he was a proud member of the Automotive Machinists District #160 Local Lodge #289.

After retiring, he started a landscape material hauling and tractor business, which he ran for many years. This venture perfectly complemented his gift of gab. There wasn't a person Dennis couldn't hold an hour-long conversation with.

The best description of Dennis was offered by a dear friend: "Dennis was one where you learned something new every time you listened to him." This was true whether he was sharing automotive wisdom or his very detailed instructions on how to cook one of his culinary specialties.
Dennis began building hot rods at his parents' home in Marysville around 1962, starting with a 1949 Chevrolet pickup. This passion never waned. He stayed very active hot-rodding and restoring vehicles right up until his passing. Known for being "19 years old, going on 79," Dennis was never one to turn down a stoplight-to-stoplight race. Over the years, a number of his amazingly detailed hot rods appeared in national magazines.

He was a proud past member of the Goodguys Rod and Custom Association, NSRA, and NHRA. In the mid-70s, he built and raced two front-engine dragsters. While never shy to critique your work, his intention was always for you to learn—a trait that exemplifies his generous spirit.
He touched considerably more people than we'll ever know.
