Obituary

Domonick John Benigno, age 19, passed away on July 1, 2025, in Renton, Washington. Born on August 26, 2005, in Stuart, Florida. Moved to Washington state in 2008 and has lived at his home in Renton with his parents and siblings since 2012.

Domonick graduated from Hazen Highschool in 2023 and was furthering his education at Renton Technical College by participating in their Professional Welding program.  He rotated between school, working at McDonald's, playing games like GTA or Fortnight with his online friends, and occasionally playing Mario Kart and such with his younger siblings. He also enjoyed experimenting with making food like espresso and chocolate chips cookies, or frying some Oreo's dipped in batter, or whipping up some Korean barbeque chicken. He spent a lot of time with his best friend since middle school, Jordan and his family. They enjoyed going on trips camping, fishing, and general gatherings.

Sadly, he also suffered mentally with depression. The past couple of years he had moments where he showed this but kept it mostly to himself. On the outside, his symptoms and the actions of many young adults finding their own way into adulthood looked very similar. He was encouraged to get therapy to help. However, the nature of depression is that one doesn't have the energy or motivation to do the things that may help the most. Tragically, this led to him losing his mental battles and taking his own life.

Domonick is survived by his father Derek Benigno, his mother Shelby Benigno, two younger sisters Lilyanna (16) and Freyja (12), and a younger brother Magnus (6).

Due to the tragic nature of his death, his parents will not be having a viewing for him to spare his siblings mental health and is being cremated. Instead, there will be a Celebration of Life for Domonick held privately for family and friends on *August 7th, 2025 at the North Shelter in Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park (2811 Mountain View Ave N, Renton, WA).
