Eddie Dandridge Jr., affectionately known as "Sonny," was born on February 20, 1939, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, to the union of Ed and Melissa Dandridge, both of whom preceded him in death.
Eddie was educated in Chickasha, Oklahoma, where he graduated from high school before proudly joining the United States Navy, where he faithfully served his country.
After leaving the Navy, Eddie moved to Tacoma, Washington, to be near his only sister, Georgia Faye Hankins, and her family. Georgia also preceded him in death.
Eddie worked for the federal government at Madigan Army Medical Center on Fort Lewis as a radiology clerk until his retirement.
On May 14, 2026, the Lord called Eddie home, leaving behind all his pain and suffering.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Melissa Dandridge; his sister, Georgia Faye Hankins; and his two nephews Mark and Freddie Hankins.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his children: LaTasha Ellison, Jackie Dandridge, Jane Dandridge, and Kirk Dandridge; his two grandsons, Nhazir Eddie Malique Ellison and Izaya Michael Ellison; six nieces, seven nephews, including his honorary kids his Nephew Ken "Blondie"and Niece Tonina Edwards and a host of great and great-grand nieces and nephews as well as other loving relatives and dear friends.
Eddie loved barbecue, playing bid whist, dominoes, and a good party. He was bigger than life, full of personality. Everyone knew when Eddie was in the room. He loved the women He loved life, laughter, and bringing joy to those around him.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the many acts of kindness shown during the passing of our loved one. We are deeply grateful for your prayers, telephone calls, cards, floral tributes, and every expression of love and sympathy.
A special thank you to the staff at St. Joseph Medical Center and Virginia Mason Franciscan Health Hospice for the compassionate care provided to Eddie.
