Janice Marie (Baumgartner) Leupold was born March 4, 1931 in Seattle to Vesta and Alfred Baumgartner and passed away on January 11, 2024.  On a ski trip when she was 17 years old, she met her loving husband of 65 years, William (Bill) Leupold. Jan was preceded in death by her husband Bill and sons Jim and Dave. She was a beloved mother of her surviving 8 children, Will (Dede), Chris, Steve, Marty, Laurie (Al), Matt (Theri), Jane (Mike), and Mitch (Teresa); 19 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and 6 great great grandchildren. She retired from the Seattle School District, was a devoted Catholic, a foster parent, eucharistic minister, community volunteer, and friend to many. Jan, Bill, and her family enjoyed spending time at the family cabin in Cle Elum, playing cards, camping, and hiking. A talented cook, Jan was known for hosting holiday gatherings and preparing feasts. For many years, Jan and Bill travelled with friends to Mexico and shared many laughs in the sunshine. We will all miss her.
