It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Joseph Michael Skeens, age 54, on November 25th, 2024, after a brave battle with cancer. A hardworking man, devoted family member, and proud Army veteran, Joe leaves behind a legacy of dedication, strength, and love.

Born on November 12th, 1970, in Bluefield West Virginia, Joe served his country with honor in the Army for 9 years. His time in the service shaped the man he became—disciplined, resilient, and unwavering in his commitment to those he loved. Whether on duty or off, Joe exemplified hard work and integrity in everything he did.

Joe had a deep passion for fishing and hunting. These were his moments of peace, where he connected with nature and found joy in the simplicity of the outdoors. He treasured these times spent with friends and family. Whether those times be in Hawaii on a charter boat, the rivers of Washington, or in the mountains of West Virginia, Joe created memories that his surviving friends and family will cherish deeply.

Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Melissa, his cherished daughters, Katie and Kaitlin, his son, Kyle, his loving mother, Virginia and his younger brother John. He was a man who gave his all to his family and his friends providing a steady hand, a caring heart, and a role model for those who looked up to him.

A private service will be held in honor of his life and the profound impact he had on all who knew him. Date to be announced soon.

Though his physical presence is no longer with us, the lessons he taught, the love he shared, and the memories he created will live on forever. Joe will be deeply missed by his friends and family but never forgotten.
