Joyce Ann Wright was born on March 5th, 1941 in Fergus Falls, MN to Werner F. & Margaret M. Neumann(Botz). She spent many of her childhood years late in WWII & thereafter in Pyote, Texas.

After her family returned to Fergus Falls in 1951, Joyce spent her formative years near extended family, growing up on the family farm.

Shortly after high school graduation, she left the farm and pursued a secretarial degree at the Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis, MN. Soon after graduating from college, she met her future husband, Chet, of 47 years. She moved west to Seattle, WA to marry him in December of 1960.

After holding executive secretarial positions at Boeing Corporation, and later at the University of Washington’s Seismology Department, Joyce focused on raising her two sons Victor & Eric. As any mother of two healthy boys knows, she had her hands full. However, she still found the time and energy to start selling Avon to numerous clients and future long-time friends. Even after she retired, she kept those friends close until death.

She is survived by her eldest son Victor and his wife Usanus, and their daughters Irene and Margaret, along with her sister Betty Williams of Grand Forks, ND. She was pre-deceased by her husband Chet, her son Eric, and her grandson Nicholas.

Interment will be at Oceanview Cemetery on Thurs., August 27th, 2026, at 1 pm.
