Katie was born in Mount Vernon, Washington to Kathy and David 'Bruce' Anderson on Thursday, October 3, 1985. She was a very happy healthy little girl. When she was two and a half years old, her parents  noticed  that she was losing her balance and having difficulty walking. She was eventually diagnosed with a degenerative neuromuscular disease called Cox20 which led to health complications and eventually to her death. She passed away in the early morning on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at 38 years young.

She got her first hot pink wheelchair at the age of five years old.
Even though she didn't like being in a wheelchair she was determined to enjoy life to the full, and bring joy to others

She loved swimming, and was so happy when her parents found a waterside park with ramps!
Katie grew up in Anacortes, where so many knew her.
She loved to see plays at a playhouse there but she had to be carried up two fights of stairs for every play.
So while in high-school she started a fund raiser to get an elevator installed. Next to the elevator is a plaque dedicating it to Katie's Anderson who felt it was only fair that everyone should get to see plays.

She worked with her job coach from Work Opportunities at Doug's Mazda dealership until her death.

Katie loved being one of Jehovah's Witnesses and studying the Bible, attending Christian meeting and sharing her favorite scripture in Revelation 21:4  with others.

Her father preceded her in death and she is survived by her mother Kathy, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at a later time at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
