Steve Taylor passed away after a brief, unexpected illness. He went peacefully with his family at his side. His presence on this earth will never be forgotten. He touched many lives and left an indelible mark on each of those he loved.

He is preceded in death by his father, Don Taylor. Steve is survived by his wife, Becky; daughters Madison and Dylanie; mother, Marlyce Taylor; sister, Deb Crawford; and brother, Kirk (Jan) Taylor; his nieces, Justine (Logan); Michaela; Ivy (Alex); and nephew, Burke; and dog, Willow.

Steve graduated from Capitol High in Helena, Montana, in 1977. His service in the Coast Guard and subsequent profession in food service afforded him many travels in the world. The Coast Guard (1980-1984) landed Steve in the northwest, where he chose to live so he could be close to the ocean.

He believed his purpose was to protect and care for his wife, Becky, and two daughters, Madison and Dylanie, and to keep his friends, family, and pets close. Steve's love language was food. He showed them every day how much he loved and cared for them. He was an accomplished chef, baker, and brew master of beer and mead. Steve was very adventurous, creative, and fun loving. In retirement, Steve loved to golf, make mead, and sell mead at the local farmers markets.

Steve was a very social man and was always looking for ways to gather with friends and family with food being at the center. He enlisted the help of all of his friends to build a pizza oven in the back yard! Steve collected grills and smokers the way some people collect stamps.

He enjoyed meeting people and forging friendships, of which he has so many. The net of friendships he weaved is very wide, thereby providing a safety net for his wife and daughters.

A one-of-kind man with a quirky sense of humor and a unique vision of life and fulfillment in the world around him made Steve a lot of fun to be with.

A celebration of Steve's life will take place in early spring.
