Obituary

Terri Doreen (Blue) Hildenbrand entered eternal life on Tuesday, September 5th, 2023. Terri was born December 3, 1947 in Seattle, Washington. She grew up in Seahurst and attended Highline High School. Summers were spent at her Grandparent's cabin at Lake Morton, swimming and playing card games. There were also many fond memories at the family beach house in Birch Bay.

Terri worked in the hospitality industry and tended bar at numerous establishments across Seattle. She had quite the following of loyal customers and over the years she developed many strong and long lasting friendships. People loved her sassy attitude, she was always up for fun and had a strong sense of humor. Terri was larger than life, her trademark long nails and bold red hair will never be forgotten.

Terri also had a soft and generous side. She wrote cards to everyone, about everything. You may read this and recall a note from her that touched your heart, tickled your funny bone, or just made your day a little brighter. Terri loved giving gifts and she made sure to never forget a birthday or special occasion of a family member, friend or neighbor. She was also known to invite friends or acquaintances to holiday meal celebrations if she knew they were otherwise going to be alone. Being together for the holidays was very special to her.

Terri loved to travel and she frequently reminisced about some of her favorite destinations:  Italy, Santorini, Rio, Aruba, China, Hong Kong, Egypt to name a few. Through the years, Terri was able to visit much of the world and loved learning about international history and culture.

Terri's life was a memorable one. She lived fully and with gusto, never letting much pass her by. The past 19 years of her life were some of her best years, as she was able to spend them with her husband, best friend, and soul mate Paul. Even though they met later in life, she always said he was well worth the wait.

Terri is survived by her loving husband, Paul Shallow, her daughter Lenee Hildenbrand, her sister Waynne James, her nieces Darbi James (George) and Erin Guanio (David, Madeline, and Andrew), her fur baby Sydney, and an extended family of relations, brother and sister in-laws and friends, both in the states and in Australia, that will carry on her memory in spirit.

She is preceded in death by her parents Lynn and Howard Blue, her grandparents Mildred and Eugene Fulton, and many friends and extended family members.

A celebration of life to honor Terri will be hosted at a later date.
